Meet The Candid golfer

The Candid Golfer isn’t about perfect swings, flashy tips, or pretending the game is easier than it is. It’s about showing up honestly, learning in public, and getting a little better over time.

I’m a lifelong athlete who came to golf later in life, and like a lot of recreational golfers, I’ve struggled with consistency, distance, fatigue, and trying to translate “range swing” success to the course.

I’ve chased fixes, overthought mechanics, and learned the hard way that simple ideas executed well matter more than endless swing thoughts. My personality is straightforward, curious, and a little skeptical—I question what actually works versus what just sounds good.

This space exists to document real practice, real rounds, real frustrations, and real progress, so if you’ve ever felt stuck, misled, or unsure why your hard work isn’t paying off on the scorecard, you’re in the right place.

About Us

The Candid Golfer was created for golfers who love the game — but don't pretend it's easy.

This isn't a highlight page, and it isn't a place for perfect swings. It's a real-time look at what learning golf actually feels like: progress that comes slowly, confidence that comes and goes, and moments that make you believe you're close — followed by swings that remind you you're not there yet.

The goal here is simple: document honest improvement without filters, ego, or unrealistic expectations. Some days that means solid contact and small wins. Other days it means frustration, mistakes, and learning what didn't work.

Whether the swings are indoors or outdoors, on the range or the course, the process stays the same — show up, learn, and keep going.

If you're a golfer who's still figuring things out, still chasing better contact, and still enjoying the challenge despite the setbacks, you're in the right place.

Our Mission

Our mission is to document real golf improvement without filters or hype.

The Candid Golfer exists to show what learning golf actually looks like for everyday golfers — inconsistent swings, gradual progress, setbacks, and small wins.

We believe improvement comes from patience, repetition, and understanding the process, not from chasing perfect swings or highlight reels.

By sharing honest experiences from practice sessions and real rounds, our goal is to make golf improvement feel more approachable, relatable, and sustainable.

Who We Are

The Candid Golfer is a personal golf project focused on learning the game in public.

We're not professional golfers or instructors. We're regular golfers committed to improving through practice, reflection, and consistency. Some days bring better contact and confidence. Other days bring missed shots and lessons learned. Both are part of the journey.

Whether practicing indoors, on the driving range, or playing on the course, we focus on documenting honest progress and the reality of getting better at golf over time.

What We Offer

The Candid Golfer offers honest golf content centered around real improvement and real experiences.
